The Bravis hospital, in conjunction with ChipSoft and Philips, has been working on the direct integration of the 'smart plaster' into the electronic patient dossier. As a result, readings of the plaster are sent directly to the dossier. This saves in administration and frees up valuable time. Bravis will test the plaster and the integration over the next three months.

The Philips smart plaster (Biosensor) continuously measures the heart rate, respiratory rate and has a fall detection. The plaster provides early recognition of patient imbalance and saves time as well. Reasons for Bravis' interest in testing the plaster. However, as yet there was no direct integration with the patient dossier. At least until now, because the integration will be tested in the Bravis hospital, the first hospital in the Netherlands to do so.

Marcel Swijnenburg, health care manager of the Bravis hospital: “I am proud of our collaboration with Philips and ChipSoft. The smart plaster is an innovation that we are eager to test and, as a hospital, we can make an additional contribution with this integration. As a result of the exchange of data between the different systems, the health care quality will improve and become more effective. This is a good example of digital innovations that are necessary to make future health care even safer, more patient-focused and more efficient."
Diana Kodde, team leader: “This is a good step forward. We will closely monitor how this will work in practice over the coming months."
