The e-health application Safe@Home, developed to monitor pregnant women with an increased risk of high blood pressure at home, has been integrated into UMC Utrecht's electronic patient record (EPR) via Zorgplatform.

Safe@Home, developed by UMC Utrecht in collaboration with developer Luscii, appears to be very successful. Pregnant women benefit from it, and care workers can work more efficiently. The app is connected to the EPR of the hospital via Zorgplatform, so that care workers can view and compare the data at a glance.

Pregnant women who use Safe@Home measure their blood pressure every morning. They also answer a number of questions about symptoms associated with their blood pressure. Employees at the Obstetrics outpatient clinic view that data at a fixed time of the day. If all the results of a woman are "green", no intervention is needed. If an alert appears, action is taken.

Mireille Bekker, associate professor and gynecologist at UMC Utrecht, elaborates on this collaboration in Zorgvisie: https://www.zorgvisie.nl/e-healthtoepassing-geeft-vrouwen-meer-regie-tijdens-zwangerschap/
